Suzannah Schreckhise, gallery director at Stage 18 Gallery invites you to submit small works of art for the “Stage 18 Winter Art Exhibition.” This 2-D juried exhibit will be held at Stage 18 Gallery, December 4, 2018 through February 2, 2019. This show welcomes diversity and the creative economy by promoting art sales. Please read the prospectus below for instructions to submit your works.  

 

CALENDAR of IMPORTANT DATES

October 31, 2018 Midnight is Entry Deadline

November 15,-  Email Notifications of Acceptance Begins.

December 1,- Deliver Artwork to Stage 18 Gallery Between 2 and 5pm

December 6,- First Thursday Opening Reception

February 2,- Exhibition Closes

February 3,-  2019 - Pick Up Art Work Between 2-5pm

(Schedule subject to slight change but you will be given plenty of notice)

 

ENTRY FEE: A general non-refundable entry fee of $10.00 images entries. One or more may be accepted. A maximum of five entries per artist may be submitted. The entry fee must be paid by U.S. check or money order or via PayPal. You will be sent an invoice when we receive your application.

 

ELIGIBILITY: Exhibition may be entered by any artist.  All entries must be of 2-D original design and personal execution.

 

MEDIA ACCEPTED: This is open to any and all traditional and non-traditional subject matter and 2-D visual arts practices (assemblages, digital drawings, photography, drawing, collage, painting, drawing, prints etc.).

 

SIZE RESTRICTIONS: All work accepted for the exhibition must be for sale and ready for display. For 2-D work. The maximum size is 16”x16” framed.

 

METHOD OF SELECTION: Stage 18 Juried Winter Art Exhibition will be selected from digital image files (please see file naming requirements below).

 

JURY & CURATOR: Stage 18’s selection process involves a  two-part system. This exhibit will be juried by an anonymous panel of art advisors with a broad range of expertise relative to art and design. The jury will then pass along their recommendations to the exhibit curator who will make the final selections from the jury-approved pool.

 

Installation: All placement and installation of the artwork is to be done at the discretion of the professional installation team. All artwork must be delivered within the timeframe given by gallery. No late deliveries will be accepted. Artists must indicate the vertical or horizontal orientation of the piece with a label on back of the work and include any special installation instructions. All 2-D artwork must be delivered ready to hang with appropriate hardware.

 

LIABILITY: Stage 18 Gallery will exercise professional care in handling all entries, but cannot assume liability for damage of art in the gallery. It is suggested that artists insure their entries. By entering this exhibition you are agreeing to these terms.

 

USE OF DIGITAL IMAGES FOR PUBLICITY: Stage 18 Gallery reserves the right to use the digital images of all artworks accepted for the exhibition for publicity and exhibition materials.

 

SALES: Sales are encouraged. The artist will receive 70% of sales of the work, with a one night exception at the Collectors’ Winter Preview Party when they will receive 60% of sales.

 

AGREEMENT: The receipt of an entry for The Stage 18 Winter Art Exhibition will be understood to imply agreement on the part of the entrant with all conditions set forth in this prospectus.

 

SUBMISSIONS INFORMATION: A completed application consists of paying the entry fee ($10.00) and emailing the following information and digital images to art@stage18live.com. Please put Stage 18 Winter Art Exhibition Call For Art in the subject line of your email.


 

Name and contact information including, email, mailing address and phone number

Image list: Image description must include corresponding number on File Title, Year Completed, Medium & Dimensions and price.

 

Labeled Files

 

FILE LABELING: Please email high quality JPEG  digital images. Follow these instruction when naming your files:

last name, first name _ (underscore) #of entry, Art title.

For example:    DoeJane_1Sunflowers.jpeg.

 

All entries must be received by midnight October 31st midnight. Entry fees are non-refundable.


 

REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTED ARTWORK:

1. Maximum Size: 16” X 16” 2-D only

2. All artwork must be suitably presented and ready to hang. Assemblage, canvas and wood panels do not require a frame.

3. A label must be affixed to the back of the work that indicates which end is the top and includes the following: Artist Name, Title, Medium, Dimensions, and Price. This information must correspond with the artwork accepted from this call for art. No artwork may be substituted.

4. All artwork must be priced for sale.

5. Work cannot be withdrawn before the end of the exhibit.

 

WHAT ARE FEES USED FOR?: All proceeds from entry fees fund art exhibition-related expenses. Not unlike paying a fee to enter a marathon race, this enables our organization's projects to happen. It is important to note that this jury fee is the only cost charged for participation.

Mission Statement: Encourage economic growth for creative visual artist in our community by providing a diverse gallery space for emerging artist to show and sell art and engage a non-traditional performing arts audience encouraging art appreciation.

Stage 18 Gallery is located at 18 E. Center St. in downtown Fayetteville and is open the first Thursday of the month and one hour prior to Stage 18 events. Admission is free during gallery hours, but tickets or cover charge may apply to certain events.
