Suzannah Maude Schreckhise was born in Wellington, Kansas and grew up amongst a family of creatives. Her interest in art began with crocheting, sewing, and crafting with elderly family members. Suzannah developed a love for abstract art during early travels to art museums around the country. After her family moved to a small, rural town in Arkansas, Suzannah explored different mediums. She won the Outstanding Art Student Award at Dardanelle High School and continued her love of studio art at University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas. In college she won numerous art awards and was an assistant to her art professor.
After college, Suzannah worked on bringing art and culture into the lives of children by teaching art. After she married and started a family, she became a volunteer, philanthropist, and supporter of the arts. Suzannah's art encompases all aspects of her life -- from interior design, to landscaping and gardening, to cooking.
Recently, Suzannah recommitted herself to actively practicing art. She works in her studio in Fayetteville Arkansas, where she also sells her art. She has participated in several juried art exhibitions in Arkansas. Suzannah's art was featured on the promotional poster for the Annual 5X5 Local Art Exhibition at the Art Center of the Ozarks in Springdale, Arkansas. She recently won Honorable Mention in the Still Life Exhibition at the International Gallery of the Arts in Toronto, Canada. This year she has exhibited in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. She is now working full time making art and exhibiting her work.
